CLINICS & EVENTS

Hosting a clinic at your farm can be a valuable way to add to your training.  Special events can also be arranged for your organization.  I can assist many disciplines in sharing my knowledge of Dressage as that is the basis for all equestrian activities.  I can also assist the advanced Dressage and Hunter/Jumper rider and competitor specifically.  These can make for great cross training events!

I will work with you and your horse to maximize your potential without disregarding your work to date.  Two and Three day clinic formats work best to get to know participants and make real progress.

I am available for clinics throughout the United States.  I am based in Connecticut from mid April through December and in Florida from January through mid April.  Please contact me directly at (860) 830-8403 to discuss your specific needs.  I look forward to hearing from you.

NEWS

2010

A year of transitions - 2009 had been a great year of training Coolio in preparation for WEG qualifiers in late summer.  I was very proud of his progress and excited to show him in peak condition for the show season.  Unfortunately, only a month before our CDI he injured himself in his stall and it was determined he had to be euthanized.  I would like to extend my most sincere appreciation to all at Fairfield Equine, who were of great assistance during this painful time.  Coolio has left a giant hole in all our hearts and we are forever grateful for our years with him.  On a more pleasant note, we moved into the new farm.  Dr. and Mrs. Goldblatt have built a facility where serious projects can be developed.  Every aspect was thought out to ensure comfort and safety of horses and riders allowing for maximum development in their training.  We thank the Goldblatts for the use of this facility as Tim’s home base.

2009

Once again the year begins with awards.  Tim and Coolio received third nationally from the American Holsteiner Association as well as USDF All-Breeds awards.  Tim and Coolio primarily competed the season in Olympic Qualifier CDI*** competitions and ended the year with an average above 60%.  At two CDI’s Tim won best presented in the jog.  Another focus this year has been preparing to move to a brand new facility in Higganum, CT.  This facility is built to Olympic training standards and has taken much longer to build than anticipated but, will provide excellent training conditions.  This year also provided opportunities to expand clinics and training.   Tim provided a two day lecture and clinic at Centenary College working with almost 30 students in jumping and dressage.  Read Centenary’s comments:  Click here  The season ended with Tim Geaney – photographer for Ralph Lauren - asking to photograph Tim and Coolio.  This was a fun surprise!  See photos below.

ThinLine Sponsors Tim Malin

"I am proud to be sponsored by ThinLine - a company with products that live up to their claims.  I especially love my ThinLine pad.  The pad helps horses become more at ease with the saddle and motion of the rider.  The rider can find their seat position easier and with greater comfort.  My back feels better, my hips feel better - I feel better and so do my horses!  Please, visit the ThinLine website and see if their products can help you too! -Tim Malin"

2006 Was Cool-io!

In April Tim Malin and Golden Mean LLC purchased Harmony’s Coolio from Harmony Sporthorses.  Coolio is a 1994 Holsteiner gelding standing an impressive 18.2 hands high.  We acknowledge Ashley Holzer, Tim’s trainer and coach since 2002 for bringing Tim and Coolio together.

Here in Connecticut many wonderful improvements were made at our host farm.  Brand new indoor and outdoor riding rings with incredible bases and a mix of sand, eurofelt and rubber footings.  Absolutely the best riding surfaces we have ever seen!  All new turnout fencing, fly spray systems, watering systems etc.  We offer our sincere appreciation to Dr. and Mrs. Goldblatt for putting together a top class facility.

September debuted Tim and Coolio at Grand Prix.  They won the class with a 68.333% and were the shows FEI High Scorer.  September also announced the addition of Duke and Ollie to the Golden Mean family.  Duke is a Dachshund/Jack Russell Terrier mix and Ollie is a Boston Terrier/ Bichon Frise.  Duke is shown doing what he loves to do – napping!  Ollie as always is on the lookout for something to investigate!
